Study on Mechanical Properties and Fracture Mechanisms of Lignin Fiber/epoxy Resin Composites

Lignin fiber/epoxy resin compositeused for energy absorbing was prepared by atmospheric stirring method. Quasi-static compressive mechanics tests were implemented using the electronic universal tester (WDW-100KN) under ambient conditions to analyze compressing behavior of matrix material and composite at strain rate 10-2s-1 .Scanning electron microscope (SEM) used observe microstructure after quasi-static compression damage. The results showed that when ratio epoxy curing agent 3:1, internal structure more uniform with smoother cross-section, which represented better mechanical properties. It found addition lignin fiber changed characteristics material, resulting in a strengthening stage appeared. At same time, content 2% or 3%, could absorb impact delay crack generation, met performance requirement materials.
